What is IndieWise?

IndieWise packs a freelancer's back office into one workspace: proposals, contracts, invoices, clients and projects, plus a lead finder and a storefront page on your own domain. Payments land in your own gateway account, not in a balance held by the platform.

What IndieWise actually does

It covers the stretch from finding a client to getting paid by one, with an AI assistant called Milo drafting along the way. Milo does not send anything until you review and confirm it.

- Create proposals and contracts with AI support - Invoice clients in different currencies - Receive payments through your connected payment accounts - Find prospects with work emails - Follow up on proposals and unpaid invoices automatically - Sell services, downloads, courses and memberships - Book calls around your availability - Track projects, tasks and billable hours - Share documents and project progress through private client portals

The features that matter

Start with the money. IndieWise connects 10 payment gateways: Stripe, PayPal, Paddle, Lemon Squeezy, Razorpay, Tap Payments, Paymob, Mercado Pago, Asaas and Paystack. That list reaches well past the usual Stripe-and-PayPal pair, which matters if you work from India, Brazil, the Gulf or Africa. Invoices are multi-currency, carry payment links and automatic receipts, and can repeat monthly, quarterly or yearly for retainers.

Proposals and contracts share one flow. You draft with AI support, share a private link, see when the proposal was viewed, and collect an e-signature with a signing audit trail. An accepted proposal converts into a contract. Tracked hours turn into invoices the same way.

The Lead Finder searches by job title, industry, company size and location and returns prospects with work email addresses, which you can save to lists, export or turn into clients. Outreach goes out from your own address with opens, clicks and unsubscribes tracked. The IndiePage is the public side: a branded page in Classic, Store or Bio layout where you sell services, downloads, courses, coaching, memberships and webinars, take bookings, and let an AI receptionist answer visitor questions.

Here is the catch worth knowing. AI and lead finding run on credits. A Milo message costs 1 credit, an AI receptionist reply 1, an AI-drafted proposal or contract 3, a Lead Finder search 1, and each lead shown with an email 1 more. Prospecting will drain the meter far faster than drafting. Everything outside AI and the Lead Finder uses no credits, and you can connect your own AI key (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Groq or Mistral) for eligible AI functions.

How it fits in your stack

DealFuel positions IndieWise as an alternative to Bonsai, Dubsado and HoneyBook. Those three are client-management tools, and IndieWise matches them on proposals, contracts, invoices and portals while adding prospecting and a storefront they do not centre on. If you pay for one of them plus a lead database and a link-in-bio page, this could fold three bills into one.

Who it's built for

A solo freelancer or a small studio that sells its own time: consultants, photographers, marketers, content creators. It suits people who bill across borders, since the app works in English, German, Spanish, French, Hindi, Portuguese and Arabic, with right-to-left support for Arabic. A larger agency with a sales team will want a dedicated CRM instead.

How you actually use it

- Create your account and add your business details, logo and currency. - Connect one of the 10 gateways so payments reach you directly. - Send proposals, invoice clients, find leads or ask Milo for help.

The deal

The Pro Plan is $249 (listed at $1,400). It covers unlimited clients, 1000 credits per month, a custom domain and removal of IndieWise branding, along with the full feature set above. $249 is a serious one-time spend for a solo operator, so weigh it against what Bonsai, Dubsado or HoneyBook cost you in a year. If you prospect heavily, do the credit maths first.
